Mailand – a fashion metropole well-known. I liked Milano, but I wasn’t amazed by it. It has some really nice sights to see, but for me, they are not that interesting. Of course it was worth the travel, but I wouldn’t go there many times more.
We travelled from Paris to Milano with one stop in Zurich, Switzerland. There we had to wait one hour for the next train to finally go to Milano! We stayed there for two days in Milano Station Hostel in a doubleroom.
The weather in Milano was great – it was sunny but not too hot (definitely not as hot as in Berlin).
First we went to see the Milan Cathedral, which was amazing! It looks really great – I was fascinated. This Cathedral is one of the most famous Cathedrals from Italy and also the third biggest cathedral of the world!
Right next to the Milan Cathedral on the Piazza del Duomo is the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, which is a indoor shopping mall, where you can find many different shops, but most of them are on the luxurious side. But this gallery is so beautiful! The walls and the ceiling are made of glass and painted beautifully!
We also visited the Castello Sforzesco, which you can find at Piazza Castello. You can go in there to see different exhibitions. I think it was nice to visit, but not really necessary, because here in Austria are also nice Castles to see.
At the time we stayed in Milano, we also visited the Expo Milano 2015. The topic of it was „Feeding the planet, energy for life“. This Expo was huge! We only went at evening time and didn’t see everything, because there was so much to see and explore!
There was a booth of many countries of the world and at every booth you could explore different things from the country like culture and of course food! For hungry people it was a paradise! This Expo was very nice and I was happily surprised about it.
Of course we also went shopping in Milano, but I couldn’t shop as much as I wanted, because I had to travel with my backpack. I recommend Milano for those who want to go shopping and have some nice days there, for me personally it wasn’t my favorite city, but it was worth going there.
